  • Two of the Most Popular Guitar Amplifiers on the Market

When one is looking for a great amp for use with their guitar there are a lot of options to choose from. These amps can be expensive, but they can also be one of the most significant pieces of musical equipment that you will need. These amps can be the difference between presenting the sound that you want to present and just making noise with your guitar or kids electric guitar. Let’s look at two of the most popular amps on the market today and what they can offer you

The Fender Mustang amp is one of the best choices for those who are looking from a powerful amplifier that is small and lightweight. This amp has a full 1 x 12″ eminence and offers a very lightweight all tube 40w amp (only 45 pounds).

The Pros to this amp are the fact that this amp is very loud for the wattage and size that you are getting and that the volume control is very easy to adjust with an infinite range. The reverb is good sounding and the clear channel is complimented by two full distortion channels.

The Cons of this amp are not very much to speak of and easily forgivable. The reverb does seem at times to be a little over the top. You are not likely to ever have the need to go past #2 on this channel and the bass strings of lower end guitars will sound muddy at higher amplification.

Fender Mustang II Electric Guitar Amplifier

Roland Cube 60 is a very popular amp for all types of music but lends itself particularly well for jazz. This amp also is one of the few that has very good amp emulation and the bonus is that all of this is packaged in a unit that is reasonably priced. The amp is itself very lightweight and the footprint is nice and this is a solid state amp with a full emulation option is great to find at this price. The speaker is powerful and clear even at higher outputs.

The Pros of this unit are that the amp is small in size and is solid state at a great price. Emulation onboard is nice to find at this price point, even better is the fact that it actually works. This amp sounds great and the durable built construction makes it as strong as a Sherman tank.

The only Cons to speak of are the fact that the jacks are awkward in placement and the input jack is a little fragile. The handles are also a slight bit uncomfortable to carry long distances, but easily overlooked.
