The Basics from Tony Horton

Tony Horton is the creator of Power90, Power Half Hour, P90X and Power 90 Master Series – programs composed of sectional progression, plyometrics, abs and core routines, boxing and kickboxing, yoga, stretching, and cardiovascular exercises. For him, doing the same routines and movements over and over again is not appealing. So, many of his programs do not repeat the same move twice.
Curiosity is one of the key factors in being innovative. You must explore the types of programs that will be compatible with you. As Tony says, “Figure out what keeps you in the game, even if it’s very different than what others think you need.” Be bold in finding new ways to keep you in the track to fitness. If your current program does not work for you anymore, then jump to the next one. Be brave in trying out new things. If it seems challenging, then grab it. If it does not fit, then try another one.
Creativity is also important. Sticking to just one program will eventually lead you to a dead end. You would stop improving and would end up getting tired on your routines. Why not mix and match different exercises and movements? Quoting Tony, “Variety in your fitness world will keep boredom and injuries at bay.” This is the reason why he created his programs – to show us different to mix up routines and keep on improving over time.
Change is a must for people who seek fitness. And we must seek change through innovation for you to be successful in achieving a fit and healthy life. Tony Horton’s approach in exercise and workout is one of the best ways to start achieving your goal.
