Some Considerations About Car Costs
No CommentsDo you drive a car? If so, do you ever consider just what it is really costing you to keep your car roadworthy and legal? Actually I think about this question a lot, often asking myself “How can I save money on my car?”. This is because we live in hard financial times and it is wise to remember that old saying, “A penny saved is a penny earned”. Let’s take a little look at some of the different types of costs associated with driving a car and consider if there is any way we can save money:

- Buy the car. This doesn’t seem too expensive when we get the keys as we are offered interest free credit and even better, nothing to pay for the first six months. It is only later that we feel the financial pinch, as we try to keep up with heavy repayments.
- Pay for gas. And this is higher than it has ever been.
- Maintenance charges.
- Replacement parts.
- Parking fees. If you don’t get free car parking at home and work you might be wasting thousands of dollars.
- Get repairs done.
- Pay road tax. We all pay for the roads, sometimes through toll roads and sometimes through income tax.
- Buy insurance. There is noone who can get away with not buying car insurance. It is simply a legal requirement. And at times it seems overpriced and annoying. This is especially true if you are under the age of 25. But if you are a car driver under the age of 25 you can save money by looking for young driver car insurance. And if you only use your car from time to time then it is possible to save money by buying short term car insurance. These two types of car insurance can cut your car bills considerably.Related Articles:
