Remove Candle Wax And Stains From Upholstery
No CommentsWhen a mar has occurred on an upholstered arm chair or a couch or even the carpet, there are a few things that can be done to diminish or eliminate the mar. Some possibly difficult stains and situations might include chocolate, blood, candle wax or crayons. Other mishaps might consist of pulled threads and cigarette burns. The general recommendation for chocolate and blood stains is cold water. While this might seem difficult for soaking the upholstered material in cold water, there is a way. A cold ice cube can be rubbed into the spot initially. Then take a cleaning toothbrush and scrub with a little soap and water. After this has been able to soak for awhile longer, repeat the step. The stain will gradually diminish.
Candle wax and crayon marks may seem a little more difficult but these too can be removed. For this procedure, an ice bag or an ice cube will be used. Place the frozen ice bag or ice cube directly against the wax. After the wax is frozen, break off as much of the wax as possible. Next, put a brown paper bag that is free from ink, to avoid further staining, against the wax. Use a hot iron on the paper side of the wax. This will allow the paper to absorb the wax. After removing the now wax stained paper, use a little cleaner and water with the scrubbing toothbrush, then finish up with a dry cloth. To avoid future mishaps, spray vulnerable furniture areas with stain guard.
Spills, stains, candle wax and crayon marks threaten to devalue an upholstered arm chair. Techniques are available that will help in this area. With success methods used for removing the stains, wax and crayon marks, the chair will be fresh, clean and free of stains and wax.
