The latest trend of sticking feathers in your hair has firmly entrenched itself. At least this trend (unlike some we’ve seen) is rather stylish.

So what is the best way to wear these extensions?

First of all, make sure to choose your color well. You might like the color blue, but does it go well with your hair color? Pick colors that blend with your current hair colors but that still add just a little dash of color to help them stand out.

There are a couple of types of feathers currently used. The long tail feathers are my favorite, as they blend in well with the hair, yet add an extra dimension to it. The smaller, fluffy feathers are great for adding some volume to the hair around the ears.

The worst look, by far, is a fluffy feather tacked onto the side of the head. That look screams loudly of someone trying to follow a trend with no style of their own.

With many salons now offer feather hair extensions, you can now choose them to complement your normal array of hair color ideas. Perhaps you want to mix in some deep red feathers with your brunette dye job. Or some bright yellow into your natural blonde look. The color combinations are endless and can add a whole new dimension to your new look.

Removing feather hair extensions are easy – so long as you loosen the small silicone bead that secures them. Use a small pair of pliers to squeeze the bead and help it loosen its hold on the hair. Stylists are saying that they’ve had several customers try yanking the extensions out – with subsequent loss of hair in prominent places.

So do some research and find some feather hair extensions that fit your style.
