Alternative window blinds
No CommentsBlinds made from bamboo and other fiber plants are increasingly more and more popular. This trend has started for a number of reasons but the main one is that bamboo is both strong and flexible. It also looks very distinctive which is a great thing if you’re going for a natural appeal theme in your interior design.
Bamboo blinds are also good for a oriental theme if that is what you want. You can even mount these blinds outside, on your porch or deck for example. The reason why they blend so nicely with outdoor plants and foliage is that the blinds themselves are made from natural materials which increase the blending factor.
Bamboo is a very efficient material. It’s both lightweight and strong – qualities that do well in window blinds. If you’re worried that your blinds will break easily or wont last long, then bamboo is the answer. It looks nice and is very affordable. You will even save money with bamboo blinds in the long run as you won’t have to worry about repairing or replacing them in the future.

One disadvantage of bamboo blinds are their irregular stick size. Unlike with wood or faux wood blinds, bamboo cannot be cut into precise standard sizes. This can make the blinds have some gaps in them which allows for more light inside. However, this can be advantageous if the blinds are going to be fully closed during the day as you will still be able to see. A soft warm light is also created when the sunrays pass through the blinds.
A number of online stores sell bamboo blinds. I would also advise you to look at other designs or types of window blinds. If you’re on a budget, bamboo blinds are a wise choice that looks and feels simple and natural.
